“If I had loved them more, listened better, tried harder or prayed more, this wouldn’t have happened.” Dedicated to every person who has been made to feel this way, “Vulnerable” is a short film that explores these themes within a fictional religious cult.

“Vulnerable” delves into the deeply personal and often painful journey of an individual grappling with shame. We follow Bri, who finds herself in Michael’s tight knit church community.

Between flashbacks of her story and her interview with a curious journalist, Bri makes a decision that will change her life forever.

Visually, the film’s warm, captivating tones allow the audience to immerse themselves in Bri’s world while the beautifully, haunting settings and eerie aesthetic keeps us engaged, experiencing her emotional journey firsthand.

I am forever grateful to the team that put this project together, and the wonderful cast who brought these characters to life. The whole team’s dedication and creativity were vital in realizing the vision for “Vulnerable.”

I hope that our film reminds us of how although our Bright Future church is fictional, shame is very real. It shapes relationships, stifles personal growth, and challenges the very foundations of faith. Thank you for your time in viewing our film.
